DirBuster: Brute Force Web Directories


"DirBuster is a multi threaded java application designed to brute force directories and files names on web/application servers. Often is the case now of what looks like a web server in a state of default installation is actually not, and has pages and applications hidden within. DirBuster attempts to find these. However tools of this nature are often as only good as the directory and file list they come with. A different approach was taken to generating this. The list was generated from scratch, by crawling the Internet and collecting the directory and files that are actually used by developers! DirBuster comes a total of 9 different lists (Further information can be found below), this makes DirBuster extremely effective at finding those hidden files and directories. XPROBE: Active OS fingerprinting tool


"Remote OS identification using ICMP packets Xprobe allows you to determine what operating system is running on a remote host. It sends several packets to a host and analyses the returned ICMP packets. The tool automates a logic of OS fingerprinting methods called "X". Xprobe's functionality is comparable to the OS fingerprinting feature in nmap, but has several advantages over it: - Faster: A maximum of 4 packets are sent to determine the remote OS. - Can detect whether the host is up, so pinging is no longer necessary. - Stealthier: Does not send any malformed datagrams. - Can distinguish between many variants of Microsoft operating systems." read more...

httprecon: An Advanced Web Server Fingerprinting Tool

The goal is the highly accurate identification of given httpd implementations. This is very important within professional vulnerability analysis.
